Paisley school girl scoops top prize of trip to London
Paisley schoolgirl, Eilidh Robertson, scooped the top prize in a competition to design a Christmas card for local MP Douglas Alexander.
And last week the 10 year old from St Charles Primary School made a trip to London after her design was chosen from hundreds of entries.
Eilidh received the surprise news at a special session of the School's Assembly just before Christmas. Modest Eilidh was shocked to be picked and couldn't believe her ears when her name was read out at a school assembly!
Her prize included a tour of Parliament and a seat in the public gallery for Prime Minister's Questions.
Eilidh, who was accompanied by her Mum, Claire, also enjoyed lunch on the terrace at the House of Commons with Douglas Alexander MP and a tour of the House of Commons.
The competition was open to pupils from across the Paisley & Renfrewshire South constituency. Eilidh's design was professionally printed and was distributed to households and community groups across the Paisley & Renfrewshire South constituency.
Douglas Alexander said:
"I was delighted with Eilidh's winning card. The standard of entries was extremely impressive this year and I'd like to thank everyone who took part in the competition.
It was a real pleasure to show Eilidh and her mum around Parliament and I hope she enjoyed her day. It was well deserved"
